Smooth tarmac
Tredegar Park at Newport holds not only a skate park, ok for ‘da kids’ but for those wanting a calmer day out could opt for the continuous pathway that meanders around the park. In all, just under a mile on the shortest route but connects to much longer stretches out at the far end of the park, this connects with some moderately easy tarmac surfaces beyond.
One route is a newly built development, or the Sustrans route No 4, which carries through local areas and the National Trust’s Tredegar House. This would give you miles of skating trail or you can stay within Tredegar Park and skate continuously around the smooth paths and open fields.
Safe for children and skates can be quads or Inlines, whichever is your preference.
