Roller skating seemed like an interesting option for sport, fitness and well being and in fact I’d long admired those experts on little wheels having a tremendous sense of balance, being able to move freely with little or no restrictions and at the same time enjoying the benefits of keeping fit and well.
I was seriously thinking about taking up roller skating.
After being told by my wife Katherine that ‘running’ was out for the foreseeable future, as one blistering Sunday run brought on a cardiac arrest in May 2019. Thankfully she was there to give me CPR within minutes, which was followed by treatment from First Responders and ambulance staff who took my limp body ‘blue lights blazing’ to intensive care.
My family waited while medicine and miracles were left to bring me out of a subsequent coma and back from the edge of life or death.
